Subject: In all.

In all the billions of URL's
from here to hell
I fell into you by pure chance.

The Unicorn caught my eye
I saw her once you see
shivering in dew coated morning’s breath
the mist of creation
had left a silver burnished sheen
to her mane
but she spoke to me by name.

An ancient tongue
I could never speak
explained the dawn of time to me
and opened another dimension
for all to see

The Unicorn
painted the sky in blazing red/gold sunsets
in blue so deep
the eagles fell asleep in their nests
and left the sky to the doves for a time.

I stoked her timid flank
as she wove history for me
with a voice
dipped in honeyed wine.

She allowed me to see
where humanity went wrong
the easy way
we chose the wrong song
to sing

And spring
is only a heartbeat away
but the Unicorn
has so much more to say

And so I continued to listen
through smooth skinned youth
and the confrontation of thirties truth
through harsh reflections of middle age
To the unopened chapter
with a dog-eared page
of my death.

The Unicorn
stopped speaking

And I fell silent.
