I heard of the Millionaires but it was a little before my era in Manchester. I was working just outside the area at that time. Been involved in quite a few gun incidents though. I have never owned a vest although I would have had one if I'd had the spare cash. Had to wear a borrowed one a few times though. We got shot at on the Hac. a few times and some of the nights like d&b would attract a lot of the local gun packers. Certain guys were not to be searched like the usual punters as we knew they were carrying but were down with the firm. Didn't witness any shootings inside the club though and most cases I've heard of were on the door. It has happened though. Usually a shooter will be after a specific person or a team of doormen and know there are more cameras inside, so will hit them on the door or in a drive by. The last thing they wanna do is get caught on film. Although it has happened. I remember a few years ago a guy just went crazy in the Home when it first opened and just let off shot in all directions. I got a sawn off pulled on me from a club foyer whilst I was inside. You also get the type who is that f*cked on drugs that they don't have any cares or reason and will open fire regardless.
A lot of my friends have been shot working and I've had one pulled on me outside of Manchester in areas where you would not expect it as well. One guy very close to me (my baby's godfather and friend for many years) took four bullets. One passed through his scrotum and never hit anything. One of my friends has metal plates in his back and legs, one was peppered with shot a few months ago. Funnily enough he carried on working, took himself to hospital when he had finished and told them he'd been shot. The Police wanted more info and he said he knew nothing and didn't even want to press charges. If you know Manchester you'll know who I'm talking about. Needless to say the guy won't do it again.
What worries me is more recently it is becoming more of a regular occurance. One in Liverpool just last week. The attitude of the younger generation is one of little respect. People do not have the balls to have a one on one anymore and are brought up with the attitude that it doesn't matter how hard someone is, a gun will win every time. OK in certain situations they have their purpose but these kids get on power trips with them and think they are really gonna be the next 'gangster no.1'. The bullshit about 'backup' when in actual fact it is thuggary and gang beating and the business of 'taxing' when it is plain and simple street robbery. These guys (and girls) are dragged up without morals and do not care if you have a family. They just want an easy way to stop you and make them have more 'respect'. It is a sad time that we live in.
Anyway, getting back to USA. I bought some ECA in a World gym. Don't forget to check out their range of gym clothes. Most big franchises carry allsorts. I went over in Nov. to Florida and got tons of stuff including a furry World gym gorrilla with barbell for the car for $6.
I've also got a friction carbon batton. Can't say where from, but let's just say the serial no. is filled off. It does feel kinda light but it does a lot of damage and it's virtually unbreakable. I had a telescopic 3 section batton that flicks out with a button that was steel. Once it got bent (better not say how) it wouldn't retract. I got myself a new one but it's just for show now. I suppose the same could happen with the steel tonfa type although I'd imagine you'd have to hit someone pretty hard with it. In which case you'd have to get rid of it anyway in case it got used for evidence! hehe!
I'm after a side handle I saw that fits onto a mag light. I saw one in a catalogue at a friends a while ago but can't remember which. It slides along the handle and makes it like a tonfa. If any of you guys know where I can get one I'd appreciate it.
