He shuddered under her touch but he wanted so badly to curl into it. She was safe, she was what was lacking in his existence. With her by his side he could do anything, be anywhere, anyone. But she had been gone for so long. Then the box opened, flooding his mind with the memories of their past.

"I tried to tell you.... God, I swear I did.... i didn't want this....... I'm sorry, Cat.... I didn't mean to....." He looked up at her, his eyes grey now with flecks of yellow. There was fear in his eyes and a profound sadness. He pushed his hair back, clearly unsure of himself. He needed to feel, he knew Dez kept bloodpacks in her apartment for emergencies... If he could only get there.
