.. The purring drew a small chuckle from him, the light smile remaining on his lips though it was probably difficult for Kuro to notice from his and her positions in relation to each other. This only proved, perhaps, that it wasn't a forced or faked smile that he was squeezing out for her benefit. Perhaps.
"Hmm, that sounds like a good idea. If you weren't going to suggest it, I was." He chuckled a bit again, his good mood becoming more and more apparent. Kyan was, for now, forgotten and Kuro's fine work was certainly keeping her on his good side. ..

The purr deepened. "Great minds think alike, Master." She lay on top of the sheets now, with her arm flung across the vampire's bare lower back. Her hand still worked the muscles of the male's shoulder, not quite satisfied with the previous work there.
"And maybe, she started, snuggling into the Master's side now, "we can name her now?"

.. He made a small noise in his throat that was somewhere between simple agreement and quite disagreement. Perhaps it was more what she suggested and implied with her statement that bothered him, but it certainly wasn't enough to make him move from his position. As she shifted her place beside him, he turned his head to look at her finally with the same small, gentle smile on his lips.
"I think we can do that. Have you thought of something yet?" If she was asking to do it, then perhaps she already had her own plans. Dorjan was more than happy to give her some leash on it if she wanted, as long as he ultimately agreed of course. ..

"I was thinking of 'Keahi Iliana' for her name, sir." Indeed, she did have her own plans for the girl. At least, in the beginning. After Kuro grew bored of the girl, the toddler would be handed off to the Master to be sold or kept or something. Although, her Master didn't seem like the type to like kids. But, you never knew.
The jaguar shifter snuggled her face into the vampire's side and continued to massage his shoulder. But, in fact, she was anxiously waiting for the Master's answer.

.. For a few moments, the vampire was silent as he considered things. "Is that a compound first name, or a middle name for her?" It was less a question and more of a reminder - slaves had no last name, and middle names were increasingly rare. Yet he countered himself with another soft smile. "I think it sounds rambunctious for a child and elegant for a young lady. She'll grow into it well." Well, ignoring the fact that it sounded like he was discussing someone that would be his child and not slave, it was an agreement.
As Kuro snuggled in closer, Dorjan snaked an arm out and around her shoulders gently. ..

"I was thinking of it as a first and middle name, sir. Rather like my own." Kuro was, in fact, her first name and Maata her last, since she had been free at one point. Gordon had allowed her to keep it as her middle name. So, her brother's had kept the last name as their own middle names, as well. Roxle Maata and Mayne Maata. Who would have thought?
"Hopefully she won't be too rambunctious. I dare say that children aren't my strong suit, sir." She purred again after she silenced her response. Maybe her brothers would hurry up and get here sooner. Then she'd have some fun.

.. Dorjan nodded faintly to her statement, silently agreeing that it would be done as she had proposed. Although records were kept of slaves' true names, it wasn't common for those true names to be incorporated in their 'new' lives. Things like surnames were usually completely lost to future generations, as was intended by the system in general. To preserve a last name as a middle name, sharing it amongst family members, could be construed as dangerous. Second generation slaves, those born in, were not supposed to know anything beyond what they were born to. It gave them no where to run to, nothing to run away from.
"Hmmm, you and me both." Dorjan was actually fairly patient with children and, in secret, adored them. He didn't, however, have patience for insolence in children. Beyond that (and some other things), he could almost be considered an uncle. ..

Sighing contently at the end of the "negotiations", Kuro ceased her motions and shivered from the cold air hitting her back. Now that she had cooled down and her tempurature had dropped, the jaguar shifter had goosebumps on her body.
"Then I shall shift from now until the end of my term, Master." Without waiting for a reply of any kind, she shifted right next to the vampire and ended up with a furry foreleg slung over the male's back and her contently rumbling head on his lower back.

.. Although Dorjan noted the gradual decline in her body temperature, he hadn't really seen it worth his time to comment on it. As she shifted, he made no movement to push her away or disregard her presence. He did turn his eyes slightly to look at her once she had resettled a bit, though it was almost awkward with her position behind and on him. He let it pass, enjoying the bit of warmth that she exuded compared to his own body's temperature. "Very well then. Take care to not do anything that would cost the child's life." Another small warning, that he fully expected her to heed without much provocation. ..

((sowwies. I forgot that I was supposed to post to this one. I think poor Keir is going to be traumatized soon. As soon as I catch you online, we're going to have to finish this Krev-Janny dinner thing so that Keir-Hayden can be finished.))
The jaguar purred contently and nodded from her awkward position. "Of course, Master." The feline yawned against the back of the vampire and licked sharp canine incisors. "Sir, is there any prey left in the garden or has Koen taken it all, do you know?"
