When I first interviewed with my employers to watch their 5 month old boy, we agreed upon $200 dollars a week. I've been nannying/babysitting for 9 years....and practically raised my siblings, so they hired me right away. Just before I was to begin they changed it to $150. The baby is now almost a year old, and I've had no raises, and feel this is an unfair salary. The baby is difficult to say the least. They pay me in cash...so I won't be getting any sort of tax refund this year. The bills are tough to pay on $150 a week. The baby's mom is wonderful, and would give me a raise in a moment, but she isn't in charge of the finances in her family, her husband is. (He's a doctor and i spend the whole day in a corner office of the office suite set up as a nursery). He feels he is paying fairly. I feel he is being cheap, and doesn't value me or his child. Am I out of line?
