I don't have much time to give you a thorough answer, but I would recommend a couple of things. Wait a few days for her to cool off, then ask to meet with her. Write down your concerns and possible solutions should it come up again. And make clear that you want advance notice if you are going to be asked to work so much overtime so that you can plan better to be available to her as much as you can. You have provided her with alternative options. You cannot help if she chooses not to utilize them, although I would bring it up again during your discussion. Also, if you are a live-out nanny, it is illegal for you not to be paid for all hours that you work, including time and a half for all hours past 40 in a given work week. There are nanny tax specialty companies that can help you out with information to provide your employers so that they understand the law (that way it is the goverment telling them they have to pay you, and not you). I personally use Breedlove and Associates, but there are others, also, and you can find them on the internet by doing a search.
