Subject: NAN Conference Scholarships Author: Glenda Propst [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 17:49:19 05/05/04 Wed Conference Scholarships If you have never been to a NAN Conference before but would like to come: Some of our long time NAN members have donated a paid Conference Registration to 2 nannies who have never been to a NAN Conference but would like to attend. This means that the $150 conference registration fee would be paid for you, but you would still be responsible for your travel expense, your hotel, and any spending money needed at the conference. The only meals you would have to pay for would be your Friday evening dinner and your Saturday night dinner. Breakfast and Lunch is included for you Friday and Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. If you would like to apply to receive the Conference Registration Scholarship, you will need to write a letter or an essay on why you would like to come the NAN Conference this year. These letters will be submitted anonymously to the NAN Members who donated the registration fees and they will decide who the registrations will be given to. All submissions must be in the NAN Office by July 15, and we will notify the scholarship recipients by August 1. This will give you ample time to make room arrangements, travel plans etc. We suggest that you talk to your employers about this before submitting your entry so that they are aware that you might need the time off. The conference dates are September 24-26, 2004. . We suggest you plan to arrive on Thursday night so that you can attend the opening session on Friday morning. Send your essay to the NAN office or email it to NANANNIES@aol.com put Scholarship Essay on the outside of the envelope or in the subject line of your email. If you mail it to the Membership Office, you need to allow time for it to be delivered, it is a good idea to call our 800 number and leave a message that you are sending it.
