Hey Guys
I am going to an interview on Thursday for a job in Summit, NJ. My last two jobs unfortunately have been bombs. I want to make sure I get what I want and that I ask good questions that they will answer without being evasive.
The pay is good and so is the live-in situation, the most glaring thing is that it is a family where the parents are divorced and so dad has them for separate vacation. Mom has already told me that she has not paid the nanny that they have now for this time. So basically it amounts to unpaid vacation. I have never come across this before, if the parents went away and they didn't need me then I still got paid and luckily got a few extra weeks vacation. I am not sure about this as I feel it is unfair that I lose three weeks pay. What I was thinking of doing was going with a few compromises and I would love to know your views on those too. A) That if she insists then would she consider paying for my conference and flight to conference. or B) That I get half of my wages instead of the full amount.
Hope you guys can help a nanny out.
Thanks in advance
Nessa
