I understand that you paid her for the 2 weeks that she did not work. However, any vacation you take or time you give her off, she should still get paid. The problem with banking hours is drawing upon it in large blocks of time where her pay is significantly changed. Did she agree on a weekly salary? I get paid 52 weeks a year on a salary whether my employer goes on 2 weeks or 12 weeks vaction. I am guaranteed 2 weeks plus paid federal holidays.Nannies should get overtime when they work above their agreed upon hours, that would be time and a half on an hourly basis above her salary. I think you made an error by paying her for 2 weeks she didn't work. There are times where I want time off and instead of using vacation days I will work extra hours to accumulate the amount of time off. It's hard to tell who's right in your situation, but when these issues are at hand it causes resentment, and possibly someone leaving you high and dry. If you have the money I would not make such a huge issue , start over, but do not do the "bank" system.
