A logbook is for keeping daily notes of diaper change, feeding & nap times, activities, "ouches" etc., & also for writing notes back and forth to parents. It's both to assist short-term-memory-impaired busy Nannies (like me) keep track, & also to document the day for parents. I keep a binder at each families' house (I work part-time for 2 or 3 fam.s at once) with blank log sheets, copies of that families paperwork (registration info sheet, our contract, medical release form, etc) plus a pocket calender for recording my hours and a receipt book for pay checks. I'll send you files my Infant & Toddler log sheets in an attatchment seperately. I don't keep logs for older kids (out of diapers), but many people do & I probably should.
There's also a notebook you can buy online w/ pre-printed sheets w/ a checklist of activities you can check off. I think there's a link to it on the NAN homepage, & I know there's one at <allaboutnannies.com>.
