What makes a great nanny?
A great relationship to your charges is the key to making sure you are a terrific and effective nanny, and both you and your charges have a satisfying and rich experience.

Hi
I think that one thing that enhances a great nanny is a great employer. My employer and I have a mutual respect for each other, and our relationship is give and take.
She understands that I have a life beyond my job, and she is does not make me feel guilty if I am sick, or can't work.
By the same token, if she needs me, I am there for her. When she travels, or if there are schedule conflicts, I do my best to accomodate her, but I know she also accomodates me.
I also have lots of time off, and that helps me stay energized and focused.
A great nanny is probably something different to everyone, but I think flexiblity, dependability, compassion, and mutual respect, love and understanding of and for children, are all very important.
Hope that helps.
