I was watching the news the other day and they were talking about a study that was done regarding tooth decay and soda.

They said that ginger ale and other light colored sodas are the most likely to cause tooth decay (I was surprised by this), colas are not as bad, and root beer is the least likely to cause tooth decay... but they all are problematic! Not only do they have sugar, but a lot of sodas and juices contain high fructose corn syrup, which is one factor, but soda also is very high in phosphorus which is known to interfere with calcium absorption and is corrosive to the enamel of the tooth.

So I guess if you want to drink soda, it would be a good idea to brush your teeth soon afterwards.
