In reply to: Matt 's message, "Camping/Float Trip" on 13:44:53 04/23/03 Wed

I still don't know when I'm going to be back. I also don't know what I'm going to do this summer. I should have tried to get an internship a little bit harder, but I can't stand the thought of being a corporate slackey the rest of my life, and having that start this summer so ....

I am thinking of spending the summer (at least a month, probably july or august) backpacking in the west. I think I'll be home pretty soon though. Mid May is my guess. I found a place to store my shit, so it's a matter of storing the shit and going home.

I'm all about the float trip. We're all 21 so that basically makes us invincible. At least we'll act that way until we run into a school bus of stuffed animals and kindergarteners (drunk, obviously).

Umm, can we get some tenative dates that are good for everyone? When is Mother's DAy, when is Memorial Day?

These would be bad weekends. Matt , what are you doing this summer? ARe you living in Beantown? Maybe I'll live with you if you have space?

Basically, anyone, besides the O'Connor's can board KeithO for the summer and I'd be greatful. Let me know.

Yo-
I am done with classes and work as of today. I have my final next thursday and then coming home friday the 2nd. I am spending the summer at home I think. I have a pretty solid interview for an internship in KC monday after I get back. keith - I have a list of internships still hiring in KC if you want it. I'm not really looking forward to living at home this summer, and I didn't know if anyone else was going to be around.

I have to be around on Memorial Day weekend for Beth's graduation. My whole family is coming in from MI so I have to hang around some. No idea when mother's day is, but I agree that would be a bad weekend. Keith - are you driving back again? Also, what happened to your old car. Do you have your dad's?

Anyone else have some good/bad dates for a float trip?

yeah, give me the listing. I don't want to be there the whole time though. what do you think about the west coast trip?

I was thinking of working at UPS or FedEX, somewhere laborious and full of hours. busting ass for a month, month and a half, and partying the rest of the summer. It's good to know 4th of July is back on!!!!

HA Watch out Raney's ... this time we're burning it DOWN!

I know H&R Block, Hallmark, Sprint and the Federal Reserve were all showing jobs as of last week. I went on Monster.com to find out about the job I am looking at. I think I will end up at Smith Barney down close to the plaza (American Century tower). It sounds like they have more openings. If you want, I could ask what else is available Monday when I go in for my interview. As for UPS or FedEx you don't want that shit. The pay is good, but you are aorking at like 5:30 in the morning down in the west bottoms. You can't party at all with that shit. Get your ass a boring, 9-5 that you can be high at, or a 9-5 that sounds good on a resume, and we'll fuckin drink and smoke ourselves into oblivion every damn night. I know that sounds good.

As to a west coast trip, I would love to go, but I'm not sure what the work/$$ situation will be. Depends on how long and when mostly. Any idea yet when you are coming home? That goes out to everyone. I fly back friday and I want to start partying as soon as possible.
