Kakabsat,

What an uplifting weekend we had up on the mountains!! I am very happy to tell you that we had a wonderful time for our 2nd annual summercamp in Wrightwood, California. As your Chairman, I cannot be happier to tell you that although our numbers was less than last year, we still accomplished what we had set out to do and more. It was more meaningful, more encouraging and more satisfying than I had anticipated. Thanks to all of you. Here are some of the highlights that I remember during our weekend re-union.

We all arrived on Friday at different times but all were on time for the evening devotion, introduction of participants, playing games, karaoke singing and of course eating those delicious pastries before we went to bed.

On Saturday, we started early with morning devotion led by me (substitute) and a hearty breakfast. After an hour of family time, we had our scavenger hunt. We had 3 teams who tried to outplay each other by solving the clues presented to us. In the end, Bob/Steve group won. After a brief rest, some played basketball, ping-pong, volleyball, karaoke singing while Willie and company were busy preparing for the barbecue. I think everyone agreed that it was the best chow we had. Right after lunch, eveyone was headed to the archery range. Bong was the best archer. Soon after archery we had our annual meeting while the youngsters either went swimming, resting or enjoying walking around the facility. I believe Boni will report to you what we had talked about during our meeting.

After another hearty dinner, Bob led the evening devotion. He really hit the nail in the head on his exposition of our theme "Strengthening the Faith." Soon after evening devotion, we had our talent contest. Joy and her friends sang and danced; Louie, Bob, Bong, Wilie, Nick and Gabe sang to their very best. Steve, Alele and Imelda were the judges. After the contest, we had more singing, reminiscing the good old times, thinking of those who did not make it, playing cards and eating again.
On Sunday morning, Leah and family led the morning devotion. It was a well prepared devotional and awesome one. Soon it was time to break camp.

I like to thank all of you especially to those who brought all those delicious food, who led our devotion, prepared food, washed dishes, cleaned the kitchen and the hall, did the entertainment and made sure that everyone had a wonderful time. You all made the difference and made our summercamp a great success. Please be ready to do it again next year.

I encourage each and everyone of you to please drop a line or two and tell us your experience, what you enjoyed most, what you did not like and what recommendations you have for next year's summercamp.

By the way, congratulations to all the winners. I hope you enjoyed your prizes kahit chocolate candies lamang. Willie promised a monetary prize to the winners next year.

This is all for now. I tried to acknowledge everything and everyone. If I missed someone, please speak up to be recognized. My family and I thank you very much. May God bless us all.

Manong Nick
