Even though we were lesser in number than last year, we all enjoyed summer camp 2005 because the spirit of brotherhood in Christ was there. 1/3 ang first-timers. Walo ang originally na nagplano na aalis Saturday afternoon but they were liking the occasion so much kaya tinapos na rin nila. Bong (Go) retained his archery title that I closely challenged. He also won 1st sa talent show, in a tie with Gabriel, Willie's son. Leah's 3-year old daughter won the youngest delegate. Nick's delegation won the biggest in number by virtue of daughter Joy bringing along 3 of her UC Irvine Kababayan brothers. As a CLCYF tradition, hindi rin nawala ang kantahan ng walang kamatayang folk songs and oldies as revived by Willie, Bong and me with 3 guitars. New this year was Nick’s videoke, which dutifully entertained everybody. If you haven’t seen our wonderful pictures yet and wish to see them, email me or text me your email address @ 951-852-2077 (USA) or +63-921-782-7358 (RP).
Unless Lorraine has other suggestions for the venue, next year’s CLCYF summer camp USA will be held again at the United Methodist campground in Wrightwood, California, and as before, on the last weekend of June, on the 23rd thru the 25th. This is a way advanced notice of our event, 11 months to be exact. So those that need to plan that far ahead, you may do it now. Schedule your future activities or what-have-yous around those dates, please, and join us next year.
We, CLCYFers here in the USA, warmly embrace the Dugong CYF Foundation’s Adopt a Tree Program as outlined in the minutes of the executive officers meeting held June 11 in San Nicolas. Thank you, Atilinda, for sending the report to us. We should have our word regarding this matter as well as on the other programs or projects by the time I get there early next month.
Toy kabsatyo,
Boni
