Our camp pictures are ready for viewing at www.ofoto.com. If you wish to see all the excitement, send me an email and I will direct you to the link.

Tayug had the largest delegation – 14 in all, pati dagidiay naikamang. They also held the distinction of having the youngest delegates—Lea’s Samira and Sharon’s Samantha, and the oldest, the girls’ grandmother, Mrs. Cristina Inocencio.

Interspersed between the singing, swimming, volleyball, basketball, ping-pong, archery, and lots food for the body were food for the soul as rendered by preachers Aldwin Aldana, Melissa Orenstein and Nick Mina. Let’s not also forget the last night when the boys, armed with broom and mop (!) to ward off bears, went on a recon mission to the loud Korean bonfire party. They sure know how to make their own expedition.

Willie, all the toilets in the cabins are small, so small that if there were ants on the wall in front of my knees, they would be squashed. At least when we needed to go, we did not have to dig on a sandy river bank, hoping nobody else has previously dug at the same spot!

There is an adage and a song that goes "The more we get together, the happier are we." So next camping, we would like the rest of the CYFers USA, RP or anywhere for that matter, to join us praise God at summer camp 2005. The Tamondongs, De Cunas, Rabagos, Tiamsons, Hoerlings, Caballos, Harrells, Yambaos, Millses, more Minas, more Inocencios, ken dadduma pay, please join us next time.

More kudos to the Evangelistas for finding scenic Camp Wrightwood as the venue of the camping. The places that were looked at for consideration were Yosemite Pines in Groveland, CA, and Cuyamaca State Park. (The latter was almost completely razed during last year’s fire season.) Camp Wrightwood is one of the many campsites nationwide run by the United Methodist Church. It is a perfect getaway from the lowland cities, and yet not too far from where we live. At more than 6,000 ft in elevation, Wrightwood is a quaint little ski resort community east of San Gabriel Mountains that comes alive in the winter. But wait! Ski resort community? Snow? Have you ever thought of CYF Christmas camp in the snow? Hmmm…

Lorraine mentioned recent graduates Joy Mina and Carlo Gulla in her posting. What she did not mention was her own son TL, who, like Carlo, just graduated from high school. TL will enter Cal State LA to study Child Development, while Carlo will attempt Mechanical Engineering at UC Riverside.

In addition to supporting the Dugong CYF Trust Fund, napagnu-nummuanan mi during a meeting to support other project/s of the Conference and/or CLCYF. We just need to know what they are.

Lastly, we really tried hard to invite Manang Aie as our very special guest to the camping, but she said she did not want to go through another nightmare of getting a visa. She said next year kuno (?). Instead of coming, she wrote us a 4-page letter, so touching, so deep. Although Lorraine read it to us during our last night at the camp, its content may not fully remain in our hearts than if it was personally read by you, first hand. It is not only meant for us, attendees of the summer camp USA, but for everyone who reads this boardroom. It would be a disservice to you all if I don’t post it. So antabayanan po ninyo sa next posting.

I remain,

Boni
