DELIVERED FROM EVIL

At last, freedom from evil
Though his absence leaves a space
It?s an emptiness I can welcome
Making room for a loving, caring face.

Manipulation and lies all told
Now someone else can deal with that
For freedom from the devil has come
And good can sit where he once sat

Though sometimes my mind thinks sad
But I know it?s the best for me
Though I?m sorry for the girl he holds
For his evil she can not see

I tried to warn her of this demon
But his hold on her is tight
I told her of only the truth
tried to tell her what he was like

Then he spoke and lies came out
But she believed his every word
It?s a shame I couldn?t help this girl
He drowned me out so my voice was left unheard

So now my task is to rebuild my life
And though he told me other wise
I know inside my heart is kind
for it was him who spoke with only lies

He had me fooled for a little while
Then I began to learn the game he played
And though he doesn?t realise this
I gained the lead and there I stayed.

I beat him at his foolish game
And the rules he made along the way
Though he has another player
She too will learn the game oneday

Today i've been deliverd from evil
and now I have regained control
though i'll make many more mistakes
never again will the devil take over my soul.
