i just finished listening to the "galetti and booms" on wtam (thanks for the heads-up, clvlnd punk). i'm not sure what kind of chemistry chuck had with chris duel in san antonio, but this chuck galetti character might be the closest booms could get to a comparable replacement for kiley (assuming he and dad don't get back together). i was trying to catch info about galetti, but it was kind of haphazard. all i could decipher was that he's a former broadcaster who might have had a run-in with the law, a situation that may not yet be resolved.

the show very much resembled "kiley and booms" - a fact i didn't believe was merely coincidence. they had several pre-recorded intros (i.e., "hide your women and children. it's galetti and booms"), an 800 number - though i'm guessing the station uses it for all their programs - and lead-in songs to segments that complemented the topics they were discussing ... i don't know if those topics were supposed to be sports-related. some were, but most were not. regardless, numerous callers stated how much they were enjoying the banter, and both men hinted at this possibly becoming a permanent gig. when asked specifically about it, booms spoke of his respect for clear channel and told the caller to keep his eyes peeled for news in the local papers concerning his professional future.

i recorded a good portion of the four-hour broadcast. i missed the first 30 minutes, and it took me another 20 to figure out how to get my recording software to work - which is unfortunate, because they were having some sort of heated race debate there. once i find some web space, i'll post the clips.
