Yet another Wal Mart? Are we living in Los Angeles? No. I would say LA is fine. There are plenty of benefits to adding a Wal Mart there. But this is Ogden, our little town. Our town has history. Does Wal Mart have history? Yes, but not as old as ours. When I came here eight years ago, and drove down Washington Boulevard, there was a sign there, by the old Radisson Hotel, and it stated: Ogden, no other place like it. It was quite romantic, quaint,in my eyes and reminded me of a ski town resort. Would a modernized, behemoth, like Wal Mart had done that for me? No. Ogden is a great place, naturally beautiful, and really itching for a theme. It needs one to pass its intrinsic beauty along to our childrens' children. Let us keep it rustic, western, and unmodernized as possible. Let us design it in such a way that small business can flourish in its rustic atmosphere, adding to that rustic feeling, not overshadowing it. Let new business enhance the uniqueness that Ogden already has.
