Phase I (Abwehrphase):

Kerntemperatur 37°-34° C
Zittern, Gänsehaut
erhöhte Atemfrequenz
erhöhter Pulsschlag
gesteigerter Blutdruck

Phase II (Erschöpfungsphase):

Kerntemperatur 34°-31° C
Puls- und Blutdruckabfall
Müdigkeit
Teilnahmslosigkeit (Apathie)
Muskelstarre
Herzrhythmusstörungen
Gliederschmerzen
Angst- und Engegefühl

Phase III (Lähmungsphase)

Kerntemperatur 31°-22° C
Nachlassen der Schmerzen
Hirnschwellung (Oedem)
Reflexlosigkeit
Atemstillstand
Herzstillstand
Tod
