I would personally choose a Female pup!!!!!

FEMALES are more protective meaning she will watch over you the kids and the house , compared to a male that watches the family and nothing else! THINK about the up and downs of both in my comparison.
First of all I would choose the Female because if you have children SHE will naturally be like a nanny dog that will stop the kids from doing stuff that a HUMAN nanny would stop the kids from doing!!!!!

Also a strong factor in my eyes is the fact that the FEMALES by nature are the SUBMISSIVE ones the males are more DOMINANT towards every thing and more PERSISTANT to try and do what they want to do.

Ofcourse all males and females of all BREEDS are still ANIMALS that think on their own!!!!!

Now it sounds like MALES are so bad but they are also good COMPANIONS just as a FEMALE is...

It realy ends up boiling down to 2 Questions?

FIRST-It depends on the situation your in and what type of area do you live in?
SECOND-It depends on what it is you EXPECT and WANT out of your dog?????

THINK ABOUT ALL OF THOSE FACTORS THOUROUGHLY BEFORE MAKING A FINAL DECISION!!!!!!!
