Shadows That Scare Themselves Away.
Sitting here, embraced by dark,
alone with thoughts that lark,
where inner feelings fight
while the feather dances in dim light
scratching across papers
every now and then with little capers
jumping across the silent gaps
where the unspoken pain unwraps
leaving the words behind
your eyes will never find.
Handwritten torments
from a heart that vents
now it finally understands
where it all ends;
as the road to future bends
taking me back into the past
letting me fade to last
as a future shadow on the wall
impressions eventually to stall.
I will not sneak out of your life,
I'm your John Doe, so don't strive,
your denial already killed me,
and although shadows have no eyes to see,
they scare themselves away
leaving silence behind to sway,
an intimidating nothing more to say
blows the candle; time has come to pay.
