WAVES OF SERENITY

You have a strange
effect on me
my head is calm
my eyes can see

My pace has slowed
to a normal walk
If you advance
I will not balk

I don't quite know
or understand
the power you have
over me, Sandman

Invading all
my dreams at night
excited, I
then wake with fright

What if you're real?
No... you can't be
Dreams are not real --
just fantasy

Because I can't
yet find the key,
my head argues
reality

But still I feel
your effect on me
in clear blue waves
of serenity
