Subject: The inaugural MATRIX thread (and it may contain spoilers).

Saw Matrix: Revolutions last night.

Good movie, bar the shlocky ending, and totally redundant. As was Matrix: Reloaded.

I've heard differing stories about the original intentions of the Matrix creators.

The first story (and the one I believe) is that the original Matrix was only intended as a standalone movie, but its success precipitated a sequel, which ended-up being stretched into sequels and trilogy.

The other story is that they always intended a trilogy, but if that's the case, why do Reloaded and Revolutions fail to advance the original story? There's nothing more you know at the end of Revolutions that you didn't know at the close of the first movie.

Anyway, good but pointless.
