Subject: ? what is he?

I have a hamster, of course, his name is Tofu. He is rather old, like almost 5 years old. I'm not exactly sure what kind of a hamster he is, I havent been able to find a pic of one like him yet. He is'nt a teddy bear hamster, but he is a long haird hamster. His hair grows rather quickly too I must add. He is a goldenbrownish color, and white. His ears have little brown specks on them. I dont have a way to post his picture just yet, but i'm working on that, I'm going to get my boyfriend to get a pic for me with his web cam. I really do love the little bugger, but I just want to know what he is, and how much longer should I expect the pleasure of having him around.
please feel free to eamail me your answers. addybme@yahoo.com
thanks
Brandi

Unfortunely,I can't help you with what breed of hamster he is but most hamsters have a life span of 2-5 years. Your little hammy might be mixed with 2 different breeds of hamster or even a mouse and a hamster could have bread. I suggest that you might want to take him to a vet and maybe they could determine the breed for you.Good Luck!!!
