1. It tells the reader that he loves this woman no matter what her looks. But, my interpretation might be alittle different... I think it kind of sounds like he is trying to get back at an ex girlfriend that dumped him. i know it sounds stupid but that is what i would do. he wanted to make fun of her maybe but at the end realized that he loves her and his feelings do not change no matter what he says about her to feel better about getting dumped.

2. Most of the poems were just fluffy, flowery, love poems. this actually has some hatred in it for a woman, which was probably unheard of. i was glad it was not just another one of those sappy love poems.
