Throughout the sonnet Shakespeare is telling of a women who is made out to be a hideous person. In the last couplet of the poem Shakespeare openingly says that his love for her is a rare one even though she never did love him the same. It alters the sonnet because the rest of the sonnet is comparing her to beautiful things that she is not.

2. How does Shakespeare mock aspects of the traditional sonnet in Sonnet 130?
Shakespeare mocks the aspects of the traditional sonnet by having the sonnet end with a completely different ending then what the rest of the sonnet was trying to say. Most of Shakespeare's sonnets talk about having a perfect love relationship but this relationship is definatly different in the fact that he states everything she is definatly not but then he admitts his love for her anyways.
