1.Well, at the beginning of the sonnet, he is saying bad things about her. For example, he said that her hair was like wires. But the last couplet sums everything up and says that the love that he has for her is all that he really needs. So, the sonnet goes from being rude, to very nice! ;)
2.True, this sonnet is about love, but the love victim is what makes the sonnet unusual. The lady that Shakespeare is describing is not exactly what we would call beautiful. Most of the sonnets written about love, were written about beautiful women. This is what makes Shakespeare so different from everyone!
