The season is conveyed as cold, bare, and windy. The picture i had in my mind while reading this was fall.

The season in this sonnet is signifcant because it is set in the fall. Being set in the fall can be a metaphor for change. The season is changing and the leaves are falling. Time is signifagant because it conveys the image of cycles of seasons and the cycles for which his love for life is going through. Throughout the sonnet, it grows darker and emptier. At the end the man is old and through all the changes still has a passion for life.
