] Date Posted: 21:54:41 01/16/03 Thu im trying to take off the head in my 85 2.2L T1. ive got the cam out as well as the rocker arms, etc. what else needs to come out to be able to take the head off? i have the Haynes repair manual, but it says nothing for the head removal. so does any1 have any pics of what bolts need to come out to be able to completely remove the head? thanx for the help! Date Posted: 22:59:08 01/16/03 Thu that manuel doesnt really say much about head removal. umm. lets see. i think there is a bracket that goes from the Turbo to the block, that has to come off. the oil return line from the Turbo to the block, that comes off too. i cant really think of anything else right but im sure the isnt just it. maybe someone can refresh my memory... :D [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 23:09:50 01/16/03 Thu I've not done it yet, but I can tell you how I would. I'd unhook the exhaust downpipe and the necessary coolant/oil lines from the turbo, all the hose and wire connections from the head and intake, pull the head bolts, and pull the head, intake, exhaust manifold, and turbo as one unit. Date Posted: 04:34:07 01/17/03 Fri Under car: Disconnect exhaust from turbo. Disconnect turbo to block mounting bracket. Disconnect oil and coolant return lines. Up above: Disconnect wire harness to injectors. Disconnect throttle cable, tps/ais harness. Disconnect air box/IC line to throttle body. Loosen timing belt and slide off of cam pulley. Remove valve cover. Remove head bolts. Get some help and lift that sucker off there! [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
