Subject: 81 Jag Rebuild or?

Hi, my 81 Jag (440 Suzuki oil injected) died yesterday on its first real trip out this year (at Bear Brook, which was great while it lasted!).

I think the oil injector went on one piston, when I removed the top of the cylinder, the piston was badly scored (actually all pitted and missing chunks) and the cylinder wall is scored as well. The other piston/cylinder looks OK.

This machine has about 1500 miles, and still looks great, so its not a junker.

What's the cheapest fix to keep it going for this season? What are my other options? Is this work I can do, or best left to the pros?

TIA,
Bob
