Auron swung around, his sword ready. To his surprise, Aurie wasn't in sight. "Aurie?" he called. Auron looked through the trees around him. Where did he go? he thought worriedly.
"Aurie?" Auron crashed through the forest, all caution forgotten. He had to get Aurie back. He didn't know what he would do if he would lose himself...
Auron stopped and turned slowly on the spot. He realized that he knew where Aurie was. ...He ran to a cave nearby. He knew what he would see once he got in there. He hoped against all hope that he was wrong. The hairs on the back of his neck were standing straight up. For the first time in a long time, Auron was feeling fear.
The sight was horrifying. There was a giant wolf smacking its jaws at the delicious dinner it was about to have. And there... looking like a mere heap rags, was Aurie, looking absolutely terrified.
"Auron!" he cried pitifully. "Help me!"
