Date Posted: 15:03:02 06/14/05 Tue In reply to: Matt 's message, "Re: Derby Hospitals Shuttle" on 21:54:08 06/11/05 Sat Think the hospitals will insist on it being a low floor vehicle. It was part of the original contact with Arriva (who frequently broke it by using Merc's!) The reason being is that in additional to transporting staff, it's also designed as a public service, and many hospital patients need wheelchair/pushchair/disabled access. >Heard a rumour about this ages ago. Think this could >be partly why N+D took over from Littles? > >If N+D provide a bus of their own it wont be low floor >(unless they get one from somewhere). > >The service must be doing well if theyre doubling it? > >Matt > > > > > > > >>We have heard suggestions that the patient / staff >>shuttle bus is to be doubled in frequency in a couple >>of weeks time. Anyone know how this will be done? Is >>the Hospital buying a second MPD or are Notts and >>Derby going to provide a vehicle of some sort?
