Date Posted: 17:53:58 01/07/06 Sat alrite treacles. Lets get some debate going. Derby Telegraph tonight leads with the story that the City Council are looking for another developer for the Bus Station site. They also state it was a mistake to close the Bus Station. So what next?. I received as Christmas presents some books which contained old photos of the Bus Station in the 1930s. The structure dwarfs the size of the vehicles!. I can understand when they say the structure is not compatible with the new order of vehicles using it!. New buses are 45ft long and very wide compared to 28ft and narrow designs the station was built to accomodate. Harrogate and District purchased the towns Bus Station from the council, in what was simular circumstances to Derby. May be trentbarton will snap up the site, and built a modern transport interchange on the site incorporating the acutal frontage building.
