Date Posted: 22:51:21 11/19/05 Sat I have recently read a couple of articles which direct attention towards the government future thinking for bus services. It would much very much appear the government favours something of a re-regulation of bus services, reflective of the tendering services in London. Perhaps in some areas of the country tendering of services could be a good idea. However, within the East Midlands I think the thought of even considering tendering services in totally unacceptable. In recent years trentbarton and Nottingham City Transport have invested in the majority of their services. trentbarton especially needs recognition for what it has achieved. A small independent company which is a role model for others. If trentbarton was subject to the tendering of services process I would personally regard it as a kick in the teeth for all the good it has achieved.
