Please help me to identify a particular material that I would llike to work with. I think it is sinamay, but... It is a wooven grid, just like in a fabric. Horisontal longer lines are straws. Vertical shorter lines is some kind of natural fiber (cotton, linen, silk,hemp...) It is used in forming a base of a hat, a circle. It can be manupulated to expand in an accordion manner, so the band can be narrow or wide. I would like to make a hat using it.
The other question is: who can teach millinary class using sinamay on the East Coast (MA, NY, RD, NH...) Thank you
