I think ARITS in a great play. It shows that although specific things may change over time, the deeper message and themes are always here. No matter how hard we work to rid ourselves of certain things, they will always be here in some way or another. There is still hate in the world, and it is passed from generation down to generation.
I dont think I had any predictions about this play. It seemed to follow the mold set by just about every Disney movie there ever was. Family in a bad situation -> bad things happen -> things brighten up ->really horrible thing happens, possibly ripping family apart -> happy ending with leading character, or character that is being focused on solving the problem, or problems. -> story leaves ending with many different possibilities, that way there is room for a sequel.
Although I liked this play a little, I wouldn't recomend it. Most (if not all) people my age want to read about interesting stuff. A story that took place 50 years ago, and had an obsession with doing good things and beliving in miracles, well, it just somehow doesn't appeal to me. Plus, most of my friends already read it and said they didn't like it either.
Final message... well, there were a bunch of themes, money is worthless, family is everything, etc., but somehow, I just cant agree with them. People can live without family. People can't live without money. Personally, I wouldn't live with my parents if I could support myself alone financially. When you think about it, they have taugh you right and wrong, they have taught you everything they can. Now itis up to you to make the 'right' decisions and do the 'right' things. i understand why they think it is important, and why the old values are still here... but they dont really make sense. they are like those laws that were passed in the 1800's and haven't been changed. those weird ones, like, you cant walk down main steret with an umbrella from 3-8 PM. Times have changed. Things have changed with them.
