What temperature are you trying to achieve? I have very little experience with that style of smoker but one thing that will raise the temperature is leaving the door slightly ajar. If it won't stay slightly open on it's own your can use a piece of wire to hold the door open as much as you want. You will want to close the door when adding wood chips as alot of the smoke will escape through the door. Please keep us posted on how things are going.
