They parried each other's thrust. Several times this happened. They battled on slash for cut, nick for clip. Being the more skillfull of the two, Goldenblade was in the lead. Suddenly, Badclaw made as if to charge, but at the last moment sidestepped. Goldenblade was ready. Badclaw, having sidestepped so fast had taken the scimitar his opponent was holding out straight in the stomache! He fell to the ground, trying to pull the blade out of himself. His last words were "stones away!". He fell back dying. Slingstones began rattling in from his vermin. She watched in amazement as one extra large stone came hurtling through and smashed the bars on the window at the top of her cell. Goldenblade lay on the ground trying to catch his breath. All the vermin broke out fighting. She took this moment to make her escape.
