Chapter 1
The Blamed Dibbuns
Sniff! Lissi the otter maid lay in her bed, the only dibbun awake. She blinked her eyes opened, then smiled with satisfaction. The dibbun was the first one of them all that was up. That meant she could ask Tangle if she could lead the newest Kitchen Raiding Party first. And of course, the early dibbun gets the trifle…so Lissi quietly sat up. She adjusted a bracelet on her left furry brown wrist, then adjusted her fur so that it wasn’t too messy.
Lissi knew that Tangle didn’t wake up late. The Ringleader of the Dibbun club was the first dibbun to wake. Of course, it was because she had to get dressed, then check all of the things, like if elders had invaded the strawberry patch, the pond was ready to swim in, the elders weren’t around patrolling for dibbuns, and all the other important things that she did. Lissi grinned, then strolled over silently to the leaders sleeping room. She then strode quietly over to Tangle’s bedside. The otter dibbun whispered quietly to Tangle, not looking at her.
“Tangle, I was wondering…AACK! TANGLE!”
Lissi had peered over the bed, to see tiny fragments of Tagdust laying on the bed. There was a note pinned to the bed. Lissi didn’t even read it. She fell over, almost fainting, then sat there, her head swimming with thoughts.

Meanwhile, Swordling was up busying herself, dressing and whatnot. Her mind was swirling with many thoughts. Maybe she would be able to lead a raiding party, or maybe she could…torment elders with a group of obnoxious dibbuns. The little mouse craned her neck to look around, and seeing no body awake, she decided she would go and be the first dibbun to ask Tangle to form a party of dibbuns to spy and torment the elders. The young mouse quietly sprinted on her tender paws out of the member sleeping room. She turned into the leader dormitory and, head down, walked forward. Suddenly, she heard some sobbing. Turning her head towards the sound, the dibbun saw Lissi the otter babe sobbing quietly by Tangle’s bed. Swordling rushed over to Lissi and patted her on the back. Then, she whispered.
“What’s wrong?”
Lissi pointed towards Tangle’s bed. Swordling looked there for the first time.
“Wha? TANGLE!! No…no. Tagdust? It hasn’t been shed since…you know…”
Lissi looked down, crying harder. Swordling fell to the ground, not crying, but in shock. She nearly fainted, then looked up. There, standing in front of her and Lissi, was…Audrey and Legolas. They had two kitchen knives each, and they were upraised. Lissi had stopped crying, and now her eyes were wide. Swordling raised her paws up. Audrey sneered and glared at Swordling and her companion Lissi.
“So. You have tagged Tangle.”
Swordling gasped.
“NO WAY! We would never ever do anyth-”
Legolas pulled out a very sturdy looking net with an arrow attacked. She looked to Audrey, who nodded with an evil expression. Legolas slid the arrow into place on the bow and bent the string taut. She then closed one eye to center on her target. Letting the bowstring go, the arrow complete with net slid silently through the air. Swordling and Lissi ducked, but the arrow wasn’t meant for them. It thudded into the floorboards loudly, and the net covered both dibbuns. Audrey and Legolas rapidly stepped over to the corners of the net and stuck their knives through them, to act as stakes.
Swordling gulped and Lissi began to cry. They were caught, and were being blamed for a crime they didn’t commit.
“But we didn’t do it!”
“Yeah right. Shut up you traitors! Legolas, how about you keep a knife in your paws so if these…prisoners move, you can instantly tag them?”
Legolas nodded and positioned herself by the two frightened dibbuns. She growled at them, and sneered.
“Audrey, go and get…um…the other leaders. We need to take action.”
Lissi gulped, a dreadful feeling building in the pit of her stomach. The leaders had power, and could do many things to Swordling and herself. She wondered what would happen to her.
