Subject: Thanks for your travel diary!

Reading through your travel commentaries makes life here seem rather dull. On the other hand its the next best thing to being there because your descriptions are so interesting. Keep it up.

Grampa had his 2nd laser treatment yesterday to try and rid his eye of the vein occlution in his R. eye. It means there is a swelling and the blood has trouble gettin out. It will right itself eventually.

I finished the new Telephone Directory for our Central Saanich Seniors Centre and my replacement has now taken over as Membership Secretary. I did plan to take on a different volunteer job and that same week became Secretary for the Committee in our Complex. At least that will only involve about 5 meeting a year.

Spent a wonderful afternoon with Liam on Sunday. He will be lying on his back and suddenly does a curl (head & feet up). Imagine how strong his tummy muscles will be. We had a very intelligent babble conversation. It is almost possible to understand what he is trying to convey.

Karen and the "Pick up Sticks" group did the whole Church service last Sunday with lots of singing and it was a beautiful service. You would have been very proud of your Auntie Karen. Loyd & Cathy were over and came, as did your mom and dad, sister Erin and nephew Liam. I really chuckled when I saw Erin go up with Liam for the children's story.

I'm glad I was not along on your hike. I have done some pretty good 'up' hikes in my younger days but do have a bit of a problem with height. Ted always likes to tell the story of Penny hanging on to his shirt as he approached the edge when we were taking in the Grand Canyon.

We attach our love (although your may not be able to open it).
