If your main concern is making things easier for the person doing the webpage, how about a compromise? - Only list main chars on the webpage. I really love being connected to guild chat with my 2 alts Devas & Skwurtle. My sense of "community" will be greatly broken up if I am removed from all of you while I work on leveling them. I am totally amenable to not having them listed on the website, and I promise not to ask for special help leveling or questing for either of them. But, I am really not going to be happy having to remove them from the guild all together. I can understand if people have 5 or 10 alts that they rarely play, that might be considered excessive. Maybe we could set some limits - and perhaps only let folks have up to 2 alts in the guild (a totally self-serving number, I know).
Just a suggestion, and, an honest expression of the sadness I will feel if I am forced to remove Devas & Skwurtle from the guild rolls. I am more than happy to announce - every time I logg on or off "Hi Guild! This is really Starrsong disguised as a level 12 Cleric (or level 7 Magician)-please don't be confused!"
(I know, I'm pushing it!)
But, please consider my suggestions...
