Subject: Sporting Biography

Hey, my name is Justin Smith. I am basically a typical guy when it comes to watching most sports-I love it! I also swim here at Maryland. I was raised playing two sports, swimming and hockey. I follow many sports, but those I am obsessed with. I grew up playing those sports mostly in Omaha, Nebraska, which naturally raises you to be a Cornhusker fan-and I continue to be a die-hard fan of the Huskers. I watch hockey religiously, my favorite team is the Colorado Avalanche, and of course my favorite player, which just happens to be the best player in the NHL is Peter Forsberg. I still skate often, but at 14 I was forced to choose a sport and swimming was something that really caught my attention. I love following the swimming world and hope to coach one day. I am a junior kinesiology major here at Maryland and hope to finish school in the next seven years.

Hay, my name is Brooke Richards and I am a sophmore hear at the University of Maryland. When it comes down to it, I LOVE SPORTS. I am a member of the womens lacrosse team and enjoy every bit of it. When I was younger I played softball, basketball, tennis and I was on the swiming and diving team for my community. I can't go a day without sports. I have to be doing something. When it comes to watching sports, I have a hard time choosing between tennis and college basketball as being my favorite. Personally, I think that tennis players are among the most fit people in the world. I know that it is very hard to determine that, and you probably couldn't, but just watching them inspires me. So, anyways back to what I was saying before. In my senior year of high school, my lacrosse team one states for the first time in history and that was probably the best memory of my life when it comes to sports. It was the best feeling ever. I guess the reason why I love to play a variety of sports is because of the feeling I get when I play them. Adrenaline just pumps through my blood. Just thinking about it makes me excited. I watched my first collegiate soccer game, in person, just a few days ago. It was so exciting and Maryland won!!!! All in all, I am really looking forward to this class and I hope to get an even better idea of what sports really are and how they affect the lives of so many people today.
