Yours truly recently caught up by phone with Carnie Wilson (daughter of original Beach Boy Brian Wilson) while she was in the middle of a furniture store in California.

Wilson, along with here sister, Wendy, and Chynna Phillips, the daughter of John and Michelle Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas, perform Thursday night at Club Regent Casino. No, she didn't want to talk about her infamous weight problem, stapled or un-stapled.

"The truth is I'm exhausted and I'm a working mom," she said as she jumped into her car, chatting with me on her Bluetooth. "Yes, I have a nanny, but Lola is five and Luci is 20 months and we're still at the stage where I never have a moment to myself. You should see my fingernails -- not painted, no manicure." (Pause for breath.) "Don't get me wrong. I loved making babies and being pregnant and love watching them grow even more. But, I'm 43, and I think I'm done."

Carnie and her husband, Rob Bonfiglio, a guitarist in the band, have a rule: "If we're gone longer than seven days, the kids have to come." So, another covers album; I guess we'll never hear them doing original material again if they're doing covers for the second time.
