Subject: Beer Festival, White Horse in Hedgerley

The annual beer festival takes place this weekend Friday 23rd - Monday 26th May. Alongside the 120 odd cask ales from as many counties as they could find in the UK they are also featuring seven draught beers from Belgium and the Netherlands: Abbaye Des Rocs, Montagnarde (not sure if its the original 9% version or the Altitude 6), Karmeliet Tripel, Brugse Tripel, Jacobins "Kriek Lambic", and a couple of Dutch Meiboks one each from Drie Horne and Klein Duimpje. Personally, I've never come across either the Abbaye Des Rocs beers or indeed any Meibok on draught in this country. You should find find three of the above available at any one time, two in the beer tent and one in the public bar. And yes, the delivery system will be refridgerated but if you've got questions about the beers please don't expect the tasting committees of Zythos or PINT to be behind the bar! Ask for it to be seved in an Ascot goblet if like me you're almost as fussy about the glass as what's in it. Trains from Marylebone to Gerrards Cross, then walk across the fields or get a cab.
