All Good Things (AGT) was a pivotal episode in so many ways. Michael took over Section, with Paul away doing work for Center (the nature of which I don't think we ever knew?). Michael openly sided with George's wishes and went after Bergomi. That being the one thing that Paul ask him not to do, and that Madeline advised him not to do.

For the first time he openly disobeyed this superiors. He literally put Madeline in a corner and took her out of the decision making loop. At the end when Paul and Madeline are talking ...

Operations: We misjudged him very badly.

Madeline: I never thought he could be so reckless.

Operations: There’s another possibility. He’s just better than we are. (they both smile)

Madeline: He’s good. He and Nikita together are quite good. Fortunately even the best have weaknesses.

This was a turning point, at least for me. This is when Madeline realized that M&N together was a threat to both her and Paul. To me, it's like she realized it in that moment and knew that something had to be done.

That's why I wrote the drabble. I think there are serious paralells that drove Madeline to try to keep her power base at Section 1. And I don't think she ever trusted George.

Oh so much to talk about and I have to go to work now. I'll be back!!!

Thanks

Mary
