the basic overall approach of the storytellers shifted with this arc, from exploring Nikita's adaptation to Section/fighting terrorism and global crime lords while trying to protect true innocents to turning Section into a soap-operish petri-dish, in which all the various characters backstories and internal conflicts become the *only* story theme carried week to week. Whatever minor gestures that they had made toward 'real world' terrorism and crime began to fade away, and various Bond-like - ie, not especially real world - villains began to show up and the focus stayed locked on the four main characters and their increasingly petty internal squabbling over whether or not Nikita and Michael together would end up knocking Paul out of his perch - even as the perch itself lost much actual purpose or meaning.

*Points up*

Everything you said!

It's not that there weren't some decent episodes after the MMWK arc, but it *did* mark a noticeable turning point in terms of the focus of the series.
