Michael is angry too. He just doesn't let it out very often, though more so in S1 than in any other season (Simone). He simply learns to channel his anger into being the perfect op. It's economical, using all that energy for missions.

I've never heard anyone describe him this way before. That's not only very interesting, but also the first time an explanation for Michael has actually "clicked" for me. *Chews on food for thought*
