the possibility that he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I've always thought that he was the one who got caught because of pure dumb luck.

Re the perfectionism, that could be another aspect of his personality that simply got more acute after he was recruited into Section. I believe he joined Rene's radical group as an idealist of sorts. Thinking back to the 60s, most people who protested things did so because they wanted something better.

Re the guilt aspect, I think his original guilt had mostly to do with abandoning his sister. It didn't matter that it was by default of his being captured. He knew she was out there without him. When he used Section resources and discovered he fact that Rene was taking care of her, it only added fuel to the fire.

Michael is angry too. He just doesn't let it out very often, though more so in S1 than in any other season (Simone). He simply learns to channel his anger into being the perfect op. It's economical, using all that energy for missions.

Yeah, I've always been a DOM too, but I always thought that the craziness of Nikita's character provided the perfect foil to all the quirks of his.

Anyway, my 2 cents, and thanks for reading! KT ^!^
