Subject: There *should* be more f/f in LFN...(r)

I agree with Nestra's point about the lack of slashable men in the show. Where's the Spike or Wesley to slash Angel with? Michael, in this case. Michael/Paul, maybe - there's a lot of alpha there, but it's possible to be squicked by the age difference. Buffy fandom shamelessly slashes Giles with Xander and Oz - how many of us would read Michael/Paul, set during the show, without finding it squickworthy? (I would. But then, I come from the HP fandom.)

But f/f... Nikita/Madeline? So much potential there. And yet somehow the slash never got popular... *scratches head*

From what I've gathered from all your stories (*g), LFN has been the first fandom for many, many fans, a lot of who were driven away by bad writing/fannish flamewars. And from my own fannish experience, most fans tend to discover some slash *after* some time in fandom. Maybe, by the time fans developed their taste for slash (and the magic glasses that help you see pairings in thin air), they had already moved away from the fandom?
